Good morning all,
Is everyone enjoying the last few days of great weather? I’m sure this can’t last very long – it’s almost November! Let’s see if we can remember these sunny days when it’s cold, dark and rainy day after day. It’s never a bad day at Longview United Methodist Church!
November newsletters that weren’t picked up at church yesterday will be mailed today.
This is a light week for meetings at the church. It’s the weekly events taking place, with one exception:
- The Leadership Team (which also functions as the nominations committee) meets tonight at 6:00 p.m. If you were elected to this committee, please be sure to attend.
- Tuesday: Disciple Bible Study at Pastor Jerry’s home begins at 6:30 p.m.
- Wednesday: Active Listeners group meets at 9:30 a.m. , followed by Disciple Bible Study at 10:00 a.m. (both meetings are at the church.) Choir practice begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. I think I put in an incorrect start time in last week’s update. Choir practice is from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Of course Halloween is this Friday. I hope you all enjoy the day and are safe. In case we didn’t already know it we learned in church yesterday that when it comes to Halloween it doesn’t really matter what your age is!
Another reminder: Next Sunday is the end of daylight saving time. If you set your clock back before you go to bed Saturday night you can have an extra hour of sleep and still be on time for church!
